FAQ
Do I need previous experience to start the .NET roadmap?
No. The .NET roadmap starts from scratch with basic programming. If you already have experience, you can jump directly to the phases that interest you.
How long does it take to complete a roadmap?
It depends on your pace. The .NET roadmap has about 200 hours of content. Dedicating 1-2 hours per day, you could complete it in 4-6 months. The career one is shorter (~35 hours) and you can consult it as needed.
Is it mandatory to follow the roadmap order?
Recommended but not mandatory. The phases are ordered so each one builds on the previous. If you already master a topic, skip it without any problem.
Can I save my progress?
Yes. If you have a NetMentor account, you can mark completed steps and your progress will be saved in your browser. This is a feature in development and in future versions it will sync with your account.
What is the difference between a course step and a resources step?
A course step links directly to a complete NetMentor course with multiple ordered lessons. A resources step groups several individual articles on the same topic that you can read in any order.
